The Undead World
Introduction
In this project, I aimed to create a multi-purpose first-person shooter level design set in a post apocalyptic city. The concept involves a level that can be utilized for horde mode, mission objectives, and campaign scenarios. This project encompasses both level design and scripting.
I drew my inspiration from The Last of Us, World War Z, Call of Duty: Nazi Zombies, and Left 4 Dead series. That worked well with similar visuals and gameplay style.

Research
My main reference set in a post apocalyptic city, I begin my process by gathering inspiring images to use in a moodboard and , creating a source of inspiration. I analysed other first person shooter levels in similar settings, such as call of duty Nazi Zombies and World War Z.

Making Overview
Drawing from my source of inspiration and my analysed levels from similar games, I started to create a layout that would give me a rough overview of the level I can follow. This helps me with the blocking out process, clearly outlining zombies spawn points, weapon upgrades, and buildings.
Final Overview

Gameplay
Traversal
In this horde mode, I like to ensure there is plenty of traversal, as the zombies' speed will increase each wave, making the intensity increase, slowly making the level fast-paced, which is important to have different heights for the player to escape in tough situations.

Back Slide
The backslide mechanic enhances traversal by allowing swift movement in the opposite direction, adding versatility in crowded situations or when players need to quickly reach essential resources like weapon machines.
